San Francisco, CA (July 14, 2008) -- Flagship Studios has announced today that despite rumors to the contrary, the company is still operating.
“It is with deep regret that I must announce that Flagship Studios has laid off most employees. However, the core management and founding team members are still at Flagship.” said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios. “The past five years have been an incredible experience for us, but unfortunately, we couldn’t sustain the size of the company any longer.”
Flagship Studios owns the rights to all its technology and IP, including Hellgate: London and Mythos. Due to the current situation, Flagship will not be taking any new subscribers for Hellgate: London, and all current subscriptions will not be billed.
Flagship wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to those that have supported the company and games over the past five years.

Hellgate: London Patch 1.3d will be live on the Shulgoth (US) and Sydonai (EU) servers tomorrow, July 9th. The Shulgoth (US) server will update at 10:00 AM PDT and the Sydonai (EU) server will update at 8:00 PM PDT (0300 July 10th GMT). The downtime for each server will be about one hour.
Both servers will resume normal service after the update. Patch notes for Patch 1.3d are available here.

Hellgate: London, which hit shelves this week on June 26th in Japan, has topped the country's PC game sales list according to online retail website Amazon. Gamasutra reported on this news in their weekly "Sailing The World" column which sourced the data from Amazon.co.jp's real-time charts of the continent's sales. Pre-order boxes are not included in this metric.

Rather fitting seeing as we did some Early Spring Cleaning of the Hellgate: London official forums back in March. Two new subforums have been added to help with thread visibility: Server Status and Newcomer Discussion. Server Status will feature all threads on patch updates, scheduled maintenance, and unexpected service outages. Newcomer Discussion is a great place for new arrivals to Hellgate: London to introduce themselves and learn about core game elements from a large assortment of informative stickies.
